Brothel != Bethel

Twas an interesting weekend at Camp Artaban on Gambier Island. The pit toilets were stinky, the food was very thumbs down and it rained. However - I still had fun :D. I STILL didn't meet some people but that's ok. I guess it'll happen when it happens.

I hiked (more like a gentle stroll), I canoed - thank goodness for canoeing partners who can steer, boo to boys who like to chase other boats down and engage in splashing contests :p, I team-built and I took photos of a drunken keg party - ah, the future of health care.

As for cabin assignments I was in Bethel 13. I think the count was 2 for the number of times I heard it referred to as Brothel.

As we were leaving a wedding party was arriving. Apparently the couple met at camp - everybody together now, awwwwwww. Some of us had visions of a non-catered wedding where the guests would be dining on our leftoevers. Mini-triangles of French toast, which was very much toast and not very French. Small squares of grilled cheese sandwiches - nicely cooled to room temperature after two days. Bland clumpy noodles for the main course. We all breathed a sigh of relief when we watched them disembark with their obviously catered dishes.
