L & G VIP, That's Me!
On the 24th hour of my return to Lotusland (or perhaps it was the 23rd hour), I made the all important bubble tea run. Well, it was less of a run, and more of a stroll from dinner around the corner. This was the first time I'd ever brought my mom and grandma to any sort of a bubble tea establishment (other than you know those food courts one, which don't really count ;)). When my mom started chatting up the owners and they started making ridiculous statements (like thinking my 88 year old grandma was my mother's sister!), I pretty much decided it was also going to be last time we went there as a group.
My mom can't resist getting a deal (not to mention she was still smarting from the fact that they laughed when my mom said she was 42 :p) so as we left she turned and said "Next time my daugher comes in, you be sure and give her a free bubble tea!". We then sauntered out (ok, I was trying to make a quick yet still graceful exit). My mom though turned back and opened the door again "What did you say you'd give me?". "A VIP card" said the owner, reaching behind the counter. My mom almost turned him down, not knowing the value of this all important and slightly elusive VIP card. "Get it" I whispered, "It's really good!". (Hello 3 dollar instead of 3.75 bubble tea, goodbye the need to get 5 filled stamp cards in order to become a VIP).
I guess it won't be the last time I take my mom to bubble tea. ;)

So Long, Farewell, Aufwiedersen, Adieu!
a german meal, some chocolate cake and an evening of memorable tv = my goodbye to home for the last two years.
great quotes from the evening:
"It is possible to make no mistake and still lose. That is life."
"I need to see my father. NOW NOW NOW NOW NOW!"
"Daaaad!"
"He's my number one dad!"
"I busted him up."
