What's Next? Locusts?

So... 10 days ago Edmonton was hit with some pretty severe rain. That would be the day my sister arrived -- let's not draw any conclusion from that since it was raining before she got here ;)

Anyway, that night I decide to bravely forgo the comforts of cokoandlime's lovely abode and introduct my sis to my humble little burrow in the ground. Open door. Wet floor. WET FLOOR?! Wet wall...... WET FUTON?!!!! (from the GROUND people, from the ground...)

Yah... after shop-vacing it all up we settled into my oh-so-NOT-comfy hide-a-bed and proceeded to listen to my drunken neighbours party it up. (Have I mentioned that we are SO SO SO moving!?).

The next day we hightailed it outta there to our temporary lotusland -- aka cokoandlime's digs.

6 days ago another rainstorm hits. I have to drive east to sherwood park for an interview... Let me just say that although I grew up in Vancouver and have seen my fair share of rain, I've never actually driven through flooded streets!

2 days ago .....

Sunday afternoon at 3:30pm : Driving through hail along Jasper Ave, my phone rings

"MAKE IT STOP EVIL! MAKE IT STOP!" -- oh its just H... :p

4 pm : E picks up sis and I to go for some INDOOR volleyball. No more rain in downtown, in fact, other than a slight puddle at 110th and Jasper, its like nothing has happened...
E's phone begins to ring... and ring... and ring...

"M and R got stuck on the Whitemud but I just kept driving, my engine's making funny noises now though"

"111th St. is flooded"

"W is stuck in his car by his house"

"The water is up to my engine"

"Whitemud is flooded"

"I saw people swimming out of their cars!"

We look around downtown .... "Ummm... it's pretty dry here...."
