free as always

as usual i am in one of those free internet places and i don't know when they are going to come kick me out. aiya...

anyways.. i went to CHURCH today.. it was really awesome going back, i actually hadn't realised just how much i had missed it... jon, remember way back when we were walking back to the ghetto from debbie's place on penfield and we were talking about passion? i thought of that today when i was at church, just how God can be so cool and show us just how real and just THERE he is...

sometimes i have those crazy doubts, you know those moments where you just go "maybe its all a joke". and then i have a day like today and i just can't deny His prescence or His power over me.

so in summation, God is Cool.

BUT, Alli has a bad sense of direction... i got lost going to the church... see, but its not my fault, if the roads in Tokyo were STRAIGHT it would be a big help. I had to rely on the placement of the sun to tell me which direction I was going because the streets kept CURVING! maybe its also related to the fact that i was trying to go to church from a station on my line, didn't want to bother switching train lines. haha. anyways, i had to take a taxi in the end...keehee. after church i decided to walk back again... mmm.. took me like an hour... well, at least i got some exercise right?

the cake is in flames

went to an art gallery today. dunno.... guess i'm not much of an art connoisseur (sp.?!) but i didn't really like it much... the exhibit was an installation called the cake is in flames. a video sort of thing by an artist called pipilotti rist. okay, so i have no idea what's on her website b/c it needs flash and no flash here. yah, so the concept was cool -- the videos she made were projected on the walls and the floors but i didn't really like the videos themselves:p and i read some of what she said and wrote and it was just so... contrived? who, me? picky?

guilty as charged

sitting in a pseduo free internet place right now.... its one of those, buy a drink and get a computer kinda places... no limit either... however, there are some tourists waiting for a computer i think? i was kinda determined to stay as long as i like just cause the drink was pretty expensive! hmmm.. guilt setting in tho! BUT there are four computers and one of the other users has been here longer than i have. i think if she gets up to leave then i'll start to feel worse... course the only problem with this logic is that the people who are waiting have no idea who was here first... plus i think i'm the only one typing in english so if they decide to demand a computer from someone i think i'll be the obvious choice. dOh!

All Hallow's Eve

Happy Halloween all! Some girls I know are going to a bar called The Church. I haven't decided yet if I will join them... I heard that there's a bit of a party on the Yamanote train line. I was thinking that might be worth checking out just for the experience and the chance to take a few cool pictures... BUT, I've got no costume.... hope that isn't a problem. Anyways, no digital camera as of yet but I have a dinky little disposable... When I get my pics developed I will attempt to scan them and post them up...

Sabisu

I won some free groceries the other day! Sabisu = Service = Free.

So I go thru the line-up to pay for my bread and ham and butter and the girl starts talking to me in Japanese.... I have no idea what she's saying but I figure, I don't wanna any free tissues or wierd food or anything so I'm all "Daijobu desu, daijobu desu!" (It's ok, it's ok). And then she asks "Chugoku-jin desu?" (Are you Chinese?) and when I said yes she starts talking to me in Mandarin! She told me that I won something and I should go the service counter on the first floor...

Course I didn't think to ask WHAT i won but off I went to the service counter and the ladies (who didn't speak any English -- tho I didn't ask if they spoke Chinese!) start ringing a bell?! And then they gave me my money back... Woohoo, 7.50 dollars of free groceries!

Um... yes, that is the adventure of the week....
