hiking is not my forte.how do i know this? because i did the grouse grind today. i admit i had fun but in all likelihood i slowed chucky down a lot (i did didn't i chucky?) and there were many moments where i looked up the hill, excuse me, up the mountain, and thought "why am i doing this?" i counted steps, tried to angle for more breaks, gladly let people pass me and refused to lead the way. all that said... i think i want to do it again. :)
i started reading a book when i came home because my sister said it was really good, have to confess that i haven't gotten very far. its called the ten(der) commandments and talks about how God's commandments to us are like a love letter. pretty nifty huh? will write more when i read beyond chapter one :)
no japanese lesson today but let's see what else i remember from Units 1 and 2. oh, here's something that applies to today: "atsui desu ne!" (its hot isn't it... apparently when japanese people greet each other, its standard to discuss the weather. here's to hoping that its always hot... - because i don't remember the other phrases.. not because i want it to be hot all the time)

got adsl a couple weeks ago (hooray!) but i made a mistake. i told my sister how to get her laptop hooked up and i told her she could always unplug the cable from me and hook it up to her. who would have thought that i could get her addicted to kazaa and be forced to hang out in other parts of the house b/c my room was being invaded. of course, since i'm posting that does mean that i got my room, and my internet back. probably that's a result of me acting sulky... the perks of being the little sister :)
did another japanese lesson today from the tape.... another meaning the second one. so... if you want to know what time it is... just ask me: ima nan-ji desu ka? and i'll tell you "ju-ichi-ji desu ka" (course i just rounded down to 11 because i can't remember how to say minutes, but 47 is yo-ju-shichi.. i think)

so i haven't been quite as diligent as jon or adrian. sorry, i just figured that not that many exciting things happen to me. i too had my haircut but it wasn't quite as much of an adventure to me. it was this chinese place that my mom took me to and i think the lady thought i didn't speak chinese so she didn't talk to me and my mom ignored me and the lady didn't do what i wanted and subsequently i have a haircut i don't like. right. so. what have i been up to? well, let's see... saw p.d. and family - that was fun :) went rollerbldaing... fun also. my advice on this matter is that you should always research your path before you go blading b/c otherwise you might end up walking in socked feet searching for non-gravel, non-hilly paths and then eventually end up back in your car driving to a whole other place to rollerblade... not that i did anything quite so foolish. no of course not :) so anyways, since this is somehow supposed to relate to adventures in the rising sun, i'll end off with one of the only japanese phrases i know : toiret wa doku deska? ( i probably spelled that wrong... but i'm sure you can figure out what it means).
